About

Yemen is a country located on the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia, known for its ancient history and cultural heritage. Its capital city is Sanaa, though the city of Aden functions as a temporary capital due to ongoing conflict.

The nation's industrial base is underdeveloped, with the economy primarily focused on agriculture, fishing, and oil production. Yemen has potential in sectors like oil and gas extraction, though political instability has significantly affected these industries.

Arabic is the official language of Yemen, with numerous dialects spoken across different regions, reflecting the country’s diverse tribal and cultural groups.

Yemen’s economy is heavily dependent on agriculture and fishing, with significant portions of the population engaged in farming, particularly in coffee and qat cultivation, and coastal fishing. The culture of Yemen is richly influenced by its Islamic heritage, as well as pre-Islamic traditions, which are evident in its music, dance, and architecture.

Yemen is also renowned for its historical significance, with many UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Old City of Sanaa, the Historic Town of Zabid, and the Ancient Walled City of Shibam. Despite the challenges posed by ongoing conflict and humanitarian crises, Yemen remains a country rich in history and cultural depth.
