To enter Taiwan as a tourist or short-term visitor (less than 90 days), a valid passport throughout the duration of stay is required. One blank passport page per entry/exit stamp is also necessary. No tourist visa is required for stays of less than 90 days. There are no specific vaccination requirements, although it is recommended to be vaccinated against Hepatitis A. Currency restrictions for entry and exit include declaring cash amounts over 100,000 New Taiwan Dollars (NTD), foreign currencies over 10,000 USD, or over 20,000 Chinese Yuan (RMB). For longer stays, work, or residence in Taiwan, a Taiwan visa is required prior to traveling. Dual nationality is allowed for Taiwan and the United States, but entry/exit must be done on the respective passports. There are no specific COVID-19 entry requirements for U.S. citizens.
