As of June 9, 2022, U.S. citizens visiting Kuwait can obtain a visa on arrival, which allows them to stay for up to three months. To obtain the visa, they must have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival and a return ticket. They also need to provide the address of their accommodation in Kuwait. There are no specific vaccination requirements for temporary visitors. Additionally, travelers entering Kuwait with more than 3,000 KD in currency need to declare it upon entry. HIV/AIDS entry restrictions exist, and residency permits require an HIV/AIDS test. U.S. citizens seeking residency in Kuwait should have their legal documents authenticated and attested before arriving. If a resident loses their Civil ID and/or U.S. passport while outside of Kuwait, they must obtain a No Objection Certificate from the nearest Kuwaiti Embassy or Consulate to enter as a resident. Active members of the U.S. military and military contractors should contact the Theater Gateway office for proper entrance or exit procedures in Kuwait.
