Bhutan is a landlocked country located in South Asia, nestled in the Eastern Himalayas. Known for its stunning mountainous landscapes and unique cultural heritage, this small kingdom's capital city is Thimphu.

The nation's industrial base is developing, with the economy heavily reliant on hydropower, agriculture, and forestry. Hydropower exports to neighboring India have been a significant source of revenue, with sustainable tourism also playing an increasing role in its economic development.

Dzongkha is the official language of Bhutan, although a variety of other languages and dialects are spoken across the country, reflecting its ethnic diversity. English is commonly used in education and government.

Bhutan's economy is primarily agrarian, with a majority of its population engaged in subsistence farming and animal husbandry. The country is known for its philosophy of Gross National Happiness, which prioritizes spiritual and cultural well-being over purely economic growth.

Bhutan is also recognized for its rich cultural traditions, Buddhist heritage, and well-preserved environment. It boasts numerous monasteries, dzongs (fortress-like monasteries), and sacred sites, maintaining a strong emphasis on preserving its cultural and natural heritage amidst modernization.
